American Sabbats with Rabbit
Valentine's Day discussion and ceremony
Wednesday, February 15, 7:00-9:00PM
The Sacred Well, 536 Grand Avenue, 510-444-9355
Donations gratefully accepted
http://www.sacredwell.com/classes-events
“Rabbit invites believers of all faiths to join her in a series of Round Table discussions and Interfaith ceremonies in celebration of secular American holidays. These holidays drum up a tremendous amount of energy and cross the borders of many different spiritual traditions, but to what purpose? How can we, as Keepers of the Old Ways and Creators of New Traditions, channel this energy toward the highest good for all?
Rabbit will offer a brief presentation on the history of each holiday, its cultural meanings in the US, and then will open a dialogue around how spiritual practitioners might choose to observe these days in sacred ways, engage with them critically and intellectually, and invest them with a deeper personal sense of meaning. The evening will conclude with a ritual to focus the energy around the holiday toward healing and well-being for our nation and our world.”

Dreaming Beyond Ourselves

“Meredith Sabini will be teaching a new series showcasing contemporary research and developments in the fields of Sleep, Dreams, and Dreaming. This first of three meetings highlights Dreaming Beyond Ourselves. It's commonly said that dreams mainly concern the dreamer. But empirical evidence now shows how often we dream about others. Guidelines for identifying these dreams will be offered.
Dr. Sabini is a Licensed Psychologist in the field since 1972 and a state-certified Continuing Education Provider for psychologists and psychotherapists. Her doctoral dissertation was on dreams in nonwestern healing traditions. From 1977 to 1997, she practiced individual psychotherapy. Since 1997, she has been doing individual and group Dream Consultation for both therapists and the general public, teaching Continuing Education seminars on dreams, and doing dream assessment training for interns. Her publications focus on dreams related to a wide range of topics: dreams and illness; creativity, spiritual experience, and reincarnation; the dying process; cultural change; evolution, and our relation with nature. She founded The Dream Institute in 2003.”

Thursday 7:00PM, Friday 5:00PM, Saturday 4:00PM and 7:00PM
Envision Academy Theater, 1515 Webster Street, Oakland
Adults $10-$20 sliding scale, Students $5, Children under 10 $2
http://raggedwing.org/show/youth_current_show
“If America were standing in front of you, what questions would you ask her?
Would you attack, ignore, congratulate, forgive?
What if you looked up and saw that the person being called America was you?
Using Allen Ginsberg's poem America as inspiration, the Ragged Wing Youth Ensemble makes a direct address to our country in this show. The story travels from an Oakland high school to a McDonald's to an Elvis-themed chapel in Las Vegas. Along the way we meet a cowboy, an American Idol contestant, a cheeseburger addict, Miss America, and a bunch of kids who are gathering their courage to face the America that awaits them when they graduate from high school. Using American archetypes and their own inner experience of un-define-ability, these young artists show how each generation creates a new America while also being shaped by their past.
The Ragged Wing Youth Ensemble is a committed group of East Bay Area teens who train in physical theater, design and arts management, write, direct, produce and perform in original plays, and apprentice with Ragged Wing’s professional productions. In addition to teaching youth about theater, we provide a safe and empowering environment where they learn professionalism, self-expression, collaboration, leadership skills, and how to turn their interests and talents into a sustainable career in the arts or beyond.”

“Join us! The Monday after Pantheacon for an intimate workshop with Orion Foxwood.
Orion and his spirit wife, Brigh, have found that the concept of past-life regression may not be the best approach to humanity accessing the fullness of its soul-life. The use of such a term suggests a series of starts and stops, aliveness and dead-ness, and does not reflect the continuity of life that sets in our soul's memory. In this workshop Orion will discuss the concept of the soul-stream as a continuity of life that sets at our center. He will lead us in visionary work to access this stream and to remove trauma that prevents the wholeness of our soul and the retrieval of our fullness.”

The Dream Institute is an experimental cultural center founded in 2003. It has come into being during this time known as the shift or the great turning. Our offerings include weekend workshops, daylong seminars, evening salons, film series, professional training, art exhibits, retreats, and dream-based performances. We are also the West Coast center for Culture Dreaming. Programs and events are open to the public; continuing education seminars are for professionals in the healing arts. We do not advocate any single philosophical, psychological, spiritual, or religious viewpoint toward dreams or personal growth.
Dreams are a natural resource, democratically available to all, yet vastly underutilized today. Most cultures throughout history have called upon dreams for information and guidance. Dreams are more relevant than ever at this time of upheaval and transition. Our mission is to offer program participants a soulful experience and to restore dreams, as an ancient wisdom source, to a place of respect in contemporary society.”
