Winter Vitality
with Brittany Wood Nickerson
Wednesday, January 8, 6:30-8:30PM
Homestead Apothecary, 486 49th Street, Oakland
$25

“Winter is an important time to turn inward, relax, rest up and create dreams and visions for the year ahead.  Sometimes lack of energy, low mood, stress and other factors limit our ability to reach our full potential during this quiet, more gentle season.  In this workshop we will discuss how we can honor and support our body’s unique processes to stay vibrant, energized and inspired all through the winter season.  We will look at herbs that nourish the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety and support depression, as well as herbs that enhance immunity and build our energy reserves. Emphasis will be placed on everyday self care practices and how to incorporate the herbs into the lifestyle and diet in a way that is sustainable and affordable.

Brittany Wood Nickerson is a practicing community herbalist, health educator and cook. She brings extensive knowledge of nutrition, cooking and using food as medicine to her training in Western, Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal medicine.  Her treatment and teaching approach emphasizes health and healing as an empowered relationship between body, mind and spirit.  Brittany runs Thyme Herbal in Amherst, Massachusetts where she maintains an herbal practice and teaches workshops and apprenticeship programs; she also teaches women’s health at the University of Massachusetts. Brittany is the co-organizer of Green Nations Gathering.”

Embracing Your Full Feminine Sensual Self for an Empowered New Year
Featuring Joy Reichard, M.A., Founder of In Her Name Circles, Transformational Coach, Hypnotherapist, Spiritual Counselor, Business Mentor

Do you want 2014 to be a GREAT year?

We all do. That’s why I’m having a special event for those who want to start the New Year off right by being the confident, vibrant, powerful female that you truly are!

It’s time that we owned our true worth and stepped into the shoes of our Big Self. First we need to finally release some of those negative, nagging thoughts that crimp our style and limit our potential.  Many of us women are still bogged down by passe beliefs that can be traced to a culture which still favors male qualities and masculine ways of thinking.

It’s time to shake loose old beliefs that hold us back.

The Dalai Lama said the world would be saved by the Western Women. So we have lots work to do! And we’d better get busy!

We need to embrace our value and own our special gifts and use them to make change. At the January In Her Name Circle I will give you a taste of how you can do just that.

Because I am committed to helping each one of you blossom in 2014, I am encouraging you each to BRING A FRIEND FOR FREE!

Bring your friend and spend time together as we take back the pride and power of our womanhood, release old disabling beliefs, and discover how we can step into our BIG SELVES for 2014. Together let’s Make it a Blockbuster Year!

Joy Reichard, M.A., C,C.H.T, is a transformational and empowerment coach, author, spiritual counselor, speaker, hypnotherapist, workshop facilitator and Reiki Master. Her search for personal growth and fulfillment has taken her on a transformational journey through divorce, depression and multiple surgeries from which she gained meaningful and powerful insights.

She is now using her crone years of wisdom to help others on their transformational journey to creating the life they want and deserve. Joy is the Amazon number one best-selling author of Celebrate the Divine Feminine; Reclaim Your Power with Ancient Goddess Wisdom and is the founder and leader of In Her Name women’s circles.”

James Harman leads a three-piece rock band that supports the tight harmonies of the multi-talented 13 member cast. Amanda Morando, a rising star also playing the beautiful Miranda, doubles as vocal director.

The cast also features Phillip Percy Williams, long time star of Beach Blanket Babylon and a true triple threat performer, as Captain Tempest. Joining the cast as Gloria is the superbly talented SFBATCC nominee Amy Lizardo, a well known performer in the area who is auditioning for a Broadway musical as we write. The Five-Fold Goddess: A New Vision of the Feminine Divine
with LaSara Firefox
Saturday, January 11, 3:00-5:00PM
Serpent's Kiss, 2015 N Pacific Avenue, Santa Cruz, 831-423-5477
Sliding scale $25-$50
Pre-register by calling 831-423-5477

“Many women feel the template of the three-fold Goddess typically used in many branches of Neo-Paganism is too limiting. For years we’ve been trying to adapt a system that relates primarily to the biological aspect of motherhood to include more expressions of the feminine.

In this workshop I present a radical alternative. For consideration, I present a model of five stages of development that offers endless flexibility in the trajectory of the experience of being female.

Men and women are both invited to this workshop. The men are requested to practice silent witnessing as women do the work of redefining their relationship with the feminine divine. At the end of this presentation and discussion, there will be a question and answer session where both the men will be welcome to ask questions.

Lasara Firefox Allen is an internationally published, best-selling author. She has offered workshops on topics from Mysticism, to relationships and intimacy, to sexuality, and has an active coaching practice. Lasara regularly offers workshops at festivals and other events on the west coast, and workshops and retreats in the northern California region.”

Women report dreams coming true all year from this empowerment ritual!  Many return year after year, telling us the miracles of goals being realized in their lives. Some laminate their goals and post them to bring the visions into every day.

Moving Visions Into Reality

Building on Saturday's goals, Sunday focuses on:
Utilizing practical strategies and planning tools to move treasured goals toward effective action plans and time lines.  Translating goals into accomplishments through the use of mind maps and flow charts.  Releasing old patterns and fears of success.  Discovering tools to ground your plans in time and space so they truly support achievement of your fondest visions.  Energizing new ways of being as you enjoy the compassionate support of this powerful circle of women affirming your new steps with you.  This day deepens our commitment to letting our goals guide our actions.”

Lady Love. She who whispers, the heart turning one, giver of joy. She who governs pure and ideal love, and also, white hot passion that drives us out of our minds and towards the murky worlds of the body, the heart, and the spirit.

This Reclaiming-style transformational class will focus on Venus (Aphrodite), the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and sacred creativity. In this deep, sweet journey into magic and love, we will connect to her energy and power in its most ancient, expansive sense - moving beyond the image of the blonde beauty queen, remembering her as the archetypal queen of the Earth's fertility and regeneration, sacred sexual initiation, and the great temples of Cyprus and Delphi.

Aphrodite arose from the foam of the elemental waters, and her stories have roots in the myths of the ancient goddesses Astarte, Inanna, and Ishtar. Her majestic qualities can grant self-acceptance and help you open to love in all of its forms and incarnations, so that you can embrace your creative identity without fear and become more vital, magnetic, and confident.

Lady Love will be our guide as we explore the transformative, generative magic of love, beauty, and the ancient power of the sea. We will use the practices of ritual, trance, prayer, writing, and the sacred use of essential oils and anointing.

Urania makes her home north of San Francisco in the rolling hills of San Rafael. She came to the Reclaiming Tradition in 1991 and began teaching their core classes and priestessing in 1993. Her practice of Witchcraft is informed by Taoist principles and the ecstatic practices of all faiths.

Riyana is an herbalist, witch, counselor, and priestess with roots in many different traditions, from Goddess spirituality to yoga, Buddhism, Judaism, and spiritual activism. She holds an MA in Women's Spirituality from Naropa University, and regularly uses the magical tools of song, story, writing, plant magic, meditation, and sacred sexuality in her personal practice. She ‘grew up’ in the Reclaiming tradition and has been teaching for over seven years, and when not dancing with witches in the woods, can often be found lazing in the sun with her cat Emily Moon or on a wonderful adventure with her partner Jason Scarecrow.”
