“Blissful Travels of a Printmaker - exhibition of hand painted etchings by Kristian Johnson Michiels

Kristian Johnson Michiels is a seasoned printmaker and illustrator, whose core focus is on nature - myth, legends, dreams and the Tarot.  Her main mission, as an artist, is to express the joy of being alive by creating imagery that reveal tales of inspiration and empowerment.

‘The places I have been are shown here as resplendent postcards from my own memorable journeys. As in Tarot, I believe that certain images can work as a gateway to an inner place of meditation, knowing, healing and joy and I enjoy sharing this with others.’

Kristian recently completed illustrating the Major Arcana for the Science Tarot deck and is currently working on botanical illustrations for a field guide on Lianas for the Amazon Conservation Team.  Starting September 27th, on exhibit at Sagrada, will be a small collection  of her vibrant, hand-painted etchings and her archival handmade blank greeting cards.  At the reception, some of the original Major Arcana illustrations will be shown and The Science Tarot deck will be on hand for sale and discussion.”

Birthing Your Soul’s Calling
A Three-Day Initiatory Journey Into A Greater Than Imagined Life
with Devaa Haley Mitchell and Elayne Kalila Doughty
Friday-Monday, September 28-October 1
Earth Rise Retreat Center at IONS, 101 San Antonio Road, Petaluma
see website for registration information
women only
http://soulfulwomen.com/Retreats

“You’re a soulful woman. You’re self-aware, motivated, talented, and you’ve been successful in many undertakings and important projects. And yet…

You sense even greater possibilities for your life. You yearn to move beyond a vanilla life that is working ‘fine’ to a life that is filled with passion and greater meaning. You want to touch people and be the brightest light you can be. And you’re willing to die to an old way of being so that something new and much more soul aligned can be born.

But you’re hesitant, maybe even afraid, to venture into this unknown territory. You don’t know how to move beyond your comfort zone - especially since you haven’t been taught how to navigate the terrain, and you haven’t been given a map for where you’re going.
We truly understand. We were once there ourselves.

Together we will stretch our collective mind out of its slumbering predictability and help you invite in miracles for your personal story - and for our planet as a whole.

As our world is also preparing for a major shift, we see a deep need for what we call ‘planetary soulful midwives’ who can skillfully help hospice out a dying world and usher in the new. These midwives are needed for the larger collective birth process that’s underway. But they are also needed to help each of us to find our own unique piece in this bigger puzzle.

These soul midwives are among us. In fact, we (Devaa and Elayne) know that playing this role is part of our sacred function in this lifetime. You may be a soul midwife yourself.

And as midwives, we are here to show you a way through and provide you with a safe container in which to birth the bigger story of your life-and your soul’s true calling.

We are calling you to imagine beyond the confines of what you think is possible and stand in the truth of YOUR MAGNIFICENCE. Join us, and we will lift you into your greater than imagined life!”

CAYA Fun For Everyone: Oakland Chinatown
Saturday September 29, 11:00AM
12 St BART Station, 1245 Broadway, Oakland
for more information, please contact Cross Sidhe at CAYAFunForEveryone@gmail.com
or send him a message on Facebook
http://www.facebook.com/groups/CAYAFunForEveryone

Cross Sidhe says:
“Arrival: Meet at 12 St BART Station at 11:00 AM or just catch up with us.
Exodus:  When our feet get tired.

I have been promising local and inexpensive adventures.  There is nothing more local than Oakland!  Let’s spend the day eating Dim Sum (I know a great take out bakery - Tao Yuen), exploring shops, looking for exotic produce to buy and just having a grand old time!!!  Please bring your walking shoes, water bottle (if desired), and back pack.

At some point lets break to eat.  Some suggested restaurants I have in mind are:

1.  Ying Kee Noodle House:  Killer shrimp dumplings and won ton soup.  Plus super cheap!

2.  Yung Kee Restaurant:  NOM! BBQ DUCK and Salt and Pepper Shrimp!!!

3.  Some random restaurant

This is a leisure trip.  So don't plan to move very fast.  This trip is also great for kids.

I have decided to make this a commuter event.  Since parking in Oakland Chinatown can be a pain in the chopstick, you are better off taking either BART or Bus.  If you do decide to drive and do not like driving around looking for a parking space or feeding the meter every 2 hours, then park in the underground parking garage at the Pacific Renaissance Plaza.

Maia Mermaidian and I are not really doing a rideshare.  However, If you live along I-80 from Crockett to Albany you may ride with us.  We are parking at the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station and taking BART from there.

Message me if you are interested.

Cross Sidhe

For the latest in Caya Fun For Everyone new, happenings, planning, etc...  Please join the CFE FB Page for the e-mailer.”

The Fellowship of the Spiral Path welcomes you to attend...
Liturgy of the Lady in Honor of Demeter
Sunday, September 30, 5:00PM (and the last Sunday of every month)
BFUU Main Hall, 1924 Cedar Street, Berkeley
Donations gratefully accepted
More information or special requests: LiturgyoftheLady@gmail.com
http://www.thespiralpath.org/calendar/view_entry.php?id=295&date=20120930

“The Liturgy of the Lady is an open celebration of the Goddess in Her many forms. She is the Maiden of youth, the Mother of culture, the Crone of wisdom, and She is mirrored in all life, death and rebirth. We honor Her with reverent and joyful singing, ritual activities, and opportunities to learn. Now in our fourth decade of offering this sacred service, we invite you to join us.

Demeter is the Mother Goddess of the harvest, who presides over grains and the fertility of the earth. Her titles include Sito as the giver of food and Thesmophoros as a mark of the civilized existence of agricultural society. Demeter also presides over the sanctity of marriage, the sacred law, and the cycle of life and death. She and Her daughter Persephone are the central figures of the Eleusinian Mysteries that predate the Olympian pantheon.

Objects may be charged on the altar during the rite. Wheelchair accessible (let us know if you need someone to hold the door for you.) Family and child-friendly. Incense will be used in this ritual, unless requested in advance. Mark your calendar for the next Liturgy of the Lady, October 28. Please share this invitation with your friends.”

Healing With The Spirits Of The Ancient Healers
A Medicine Song Event For Men
with Karen Glenn
Sunday, September 30, 5:30-7:30PM
The Enlightened Mind, 409 E Campbell Avenue, Suite 220, Campbell

http://www.moonfyre.net
http://www.theenlightenedmind.net

“After beginning their work with the women, the Ancient Healers now set their eyes on the men. The men stand alone in society, struggling with societal rules and deep-seated emotions.  The Medicine Song Healers (Medicine Men, Women, and Shamans) that Karen Glenn channels have lovingly chosen to honor the quiet desire for wellness that resides inside the men of all ages. With the vast amounts of healing that the women experienced in their monthly Medicine Song Event, the Medicine Song Healers have chosen to give the men the same gift.

These monthly events will focus on the needs of the men who attend the event. The Medicine Song Healers will choose songs and tones that will settle and prepare everyone for the healings, connect them to their higher selves, and help to release the pain, trauma, and other blocks held by the individual men, as well as the men as a group.  Since each song is specifically designed to work for the individual it will be sung for, and for the energy and needs of the group as well, no two events will be alike.

Come sit with the spirits of the ancient Medicine Men, Medicine Women, and Shamans as they sing their divine healing songs for you.“

Sekhmet Puja
Presented by The Fellowship of the Spiral Path’s Gateway Circle
Tuesday, October 2, 7:30-9:00PM (and the first Tuesday of every month)
BFUU Main Hall, 1924 Cedar Street, Berkeley
Donations gratefully accepted
http://www.thespiralpath.org/calendar/view_entry.php?id=287&date=20121002

“Sekhmet is a solar, fire, justice, lion-headed goddess of ancient Egypt.

Sekhmet's action is always the right, or 'appropriate action'. When She destroys it is an appropriate destruction or vengeance. It is never chaotic or random. It is always what is needed at the time.

Even though Sekhmet is not intimately linked with the aspect of destruction, as Netjer Set is, She removes threats and punishes those who do wrong against Ma'at.

Puja Suggestions: Wear red, orange, fire colors... Gold jewelry is appropo... Sekhmet’s libation is beer... Puja is devotional. Bring a song, chant, dance, poem, artwork to offer Sekhmet’s... All will be returned...

The ritual will start as close to 7:30 PM as possible. Please be prompt.

All are welcome to this open public outreach circle sponsored by the Fellowship of the Spiral Path.”
